From London to Istanbul – Katie Renker

Katie travels from London to Istanbul by handbike and train, without flying, because she wants to attend her friend's wedding in
Turkey and remain environmentally friendly. That would be challenging enough, but with paraplegia, it becomes a real adventure. Her
old bike breaks down early on, but Stricker spontaneously steps in and provides a state-of-the-art handbike.
Accompanied by her partner Archie, she continues her journey on the Smart Dynamic from Bühl (Baden-Württemberg) via Vienna,
Bratislava, and Budapest to Transylvania. Along the way, Katie thinks a lot about privilege, barriers, and justice. Her journey is
more than just a trip: it's a statement for freedom, participation, and a little bit of hope for everyone.
She came to appreciate the Smart Dynamic on her journey and decided to keep it after the trip.

For the trip, we equipped the bike with Shimano DI-2 electronic shifting, a large battery for the shifting system
and the Waldkilo luggage rack. We also added a second battery for more range. The attachment stands with ball
bearings made it easier to maneuver the bike when uncoupled, even with luggage! The 20x2.25 motorbike tires and 2x5 kg
traction weights provided plenty of traction. Katie was well equipped.

Handbike Days Mallorca, autumn bliss by the sea

Mallorca in autumn, warm sunshine, Mediterranean flair, the sea always in view. Four days of handcycling through
spectacular landscapes. From November 1 to 5, 2025, the island will become a paradise for athletic
explorers.
The package includes:

4 nights at the four-star Hotel Gran Playa de Palma in Arenal including half board and wellness

Handisport Mallorca is an official Stricker Service Point in Mallorca and rents Stricker equipment all year round,
including delivery and adjustment.

For him as a quadriplegic, the handbike is more than just a means of transportation; it makes the trip possible in
the first place. Especially in hilly terrain, it becomes clear how much support a small, powerful device can offer.
Transporting it on the plane goes smoothly. Thanks to a travel battery, some packaging material, and good
preparation, including a battery data sheet and advance information to the airline, the Lomo GX arrives safely and
without any problems on the island.
Once there, Norman explores the surroundings independently. Flexible, independent, and with a big smile on his face.
With his luggage behind his wheelchair, he had everything he needed with him, without any hassle!

From September 17 to 20, it's worth visiting Düsseldorf. REHACARE is Europe's leading trade fair
for rehabilitation, inclusion, and care.

News about the “z-wheel”

The response to Zak Mobility's innovative integrated wheel suspension, the
z-wheel, has been tremendous. It is already considered one of the most exciting innovations in the handbike sector.

Due to the great response to the innovative integrated wheel suspension, the
z-wheel from Zak Mobility, we are expanding our demonstration fleet with additional hand bikes.
The new devices should be available by the end of the year. Anyone who would like to test the z-wheel now is welcome
to do so. Either directly at our factory or at our trade fairs.

Community event: BAB handbike tour
|

|
On October 11, the BAB (Berlin–Angermünde–Berlin) will celebrate its premiere for hand cyclists.
150 km off-road, six checkpoints, lots of nature, and
no timekeeping. Instead, there will be live music at the finish line and a lasting sense of
community.
Whether you're on a recumbent bike or an adaptive bike, if you're up for a real adventure, mark your calendar.
Registration opens on September 1 at RSV Steppenwolf.
