Crossbike GX

The Crossbike GX is our most powerful power assist device – now with the complete GX equipment. A 1500 watt gearless direct drive motor in the 16 inch wheel and moped tires of your choice take you where others turn back: onto forest and field paths, trails, mountain tours and every sporty off-road adventure.

The cockpit now offers all GX functions. The bidirectional throttle combines acceleration, stepless engine braking and reversing in a single control element. Added to this are a multi-switch with cruise control including hill descent assistant, the automatic motor brake and traction assist for slippery surfaces. All motor braking functions feed energy back into the battery while sparing the mechanical brakes.

Braking is handled by two hydraulic 4-piston disc brakes with a locking function. The 48 V battery with 13 Ah (624 Wh) has a USB charging port and allows a range of up to 40 km; the multilingual 1.8 inch color display shows speed, assistance level and capacity at a glance. This is rounded off by an LED front light with horn, a rear light for the wheelchair, a mudguard, a key switch, an ergonomically curved handlebar, long side tubes as well as a stand with clamping tube and ball.

Depending on national approval, speeds of 6 to 30 km/h are possible. The Crossbike GX is supplied in matte black as standard; colored highlight kits as on the Lomo GX and Micro GX are not available for this model.

Special feature

From wheelchair to tricycle

With the adaptive bike, the two castors of the wheelchair are raised, which significantly improves the off-road mobility. Whether cobblestones, gravel and dirt paths, uneven or muddy trails, these nightmare-inducing conditions no longer become an obstacle!

Powerhouse

With 1500 watts of motor power from a gearless direct drive – or 2000 watts on request – the Crossbike GX is a true powerhouse that no obstacle stands in the way of. The more powerful motor is also what sets the Crossbike GX apart from the other GX models.

Tires

Whether field or city center: the Crossbike GX runs on moped tires that you choose to match your intended use. The tires cannot be changed without a tire changer.

Bidirectional throttle

The bidirectional throttle enables intuitive acceleration, stepless engine braking and reversing with just one control. This function improves riding comfort and increases safety by minimizing brake wear and reducing the need to change brake pads. The throttle is fitted on the right as standard, but can also be fitted on the left. Alternatively, a twist throttle or thumb throttle can also be installed. The motor brake functions are not suitable for emergency braking, please always use the mechanical brakes for this!

Cruise control with hill descent assistant

The new, innovative cruise control with hill descent assistant intelligently maintains its speed - both uphill and downhill - and even recovers energy when the engine brakes. Ideal for maintaining speed next to a pedestrian.

Traction assist / indoor mode

Traction assist, also known as indoor mode, reduces the power and responsiveness of the throttle, resulting in smoother acceleration. This helps to avoid slipping on smooth or loose surfaces, which is why the function is particularly suitable for indoor use.

Automatic brake

When the automatic brake is activated, the power assist device brakes on its own as soon as the Throttle is released - a helpful aid for people with limited motor skills.

Reduced brake wear

The new intelligent functions, such as the bidirectional throttle and the automatic brake, enable virtually wear-free braking. The mechanical brake is only required for particularly heavy braking, which significantly reduces wear and maintenance.

Recuperation

Recuperation makes it possible to feed energy back into the system in order to charge the battery while driving. This is particularly noticeable when driving downhill. Energy recovery can generate up to 10% of the total energy. In addition, recuperation significantly minimizes wear on the mechanical brakes.

Every motor braking function of the Crossbike GX recovers energy: the bidirectional throttle, the cruise control with hill descent assistant and the automatic brake.

Equipment

Drive

Illustration can deviate.

Wheel hub motor

The wheel hub motor is a form of drive that is built directly into the wheel. Compared to a mid-mounted motor, there are fewer mechanical components that require maintenance and wear.

Illustration can deviate.

Direct drive

This motor works exactly as its name suggests: "direct" – it contains no gearbox. This gearless design enables innovative motor braking functions that feed energy back and can charge the battery. The absence of a gearbox also reduces the maintenance the motor needs.

With the optional 2000 watt motor, the Crossbike GX carries the most powerful motor we offer at all. So that it provides plenty of torque even at low speeds it is deliberately generously dimensioned; temperature monitoring protects it against overheating.

Illustration can deviate.

Maximum speed 30 km/h

The maximum speed is 30 km/h. From a speed of more than 6 km/h, an operating license and appropriate insurance is required in Germany to participate in public road traffic.

Other speed options are available.

Alternative maximum speeds

Further maximum speeds can be permanently programmed by us at no extra charge. There are the possibilities of up to 6 km/h, 15 km/h, 25 km/h or 30 km/h. Please note that an adjustment of the maximum speed is only possible by us and in our factory. From a speed of more than 6 km/h, an operating license and appropriate insurance is required in Germany to participate in public road traffic. In Germany, the power assist device may only be ridden on private, inaccessible terrain from a speed of 15 km/h.

Other speed options are available.

Range up to 40 km

A range of up to 40 km on the flat is possible. The actual range depends on many individual factors such as model, equipment, road and surface, weather and more.

The range can be extended with additional batteries. Depending on the model, additional batteries can be mounted directly on the bike or carried loosely.

Reverse gear

The handbike or power assist device can be manoeuvred more dynamically using reverse gear.

Cruise control with hill descent assistant

Cruise control allows you to drive quite comfortably, because you have the option of maintaining the current speed at the touch of a button. This makes sense especially when your strength decreases when holding a position permanently, such as when holding the throttle permanently. Therefore, this option is particularly suitable for tetraplegia or multiple sclerosis.

The hill descent assistant also maintains the set speed downhill and recovers energy via the motor brake while doing so.

Hydraulic 4-piston disc brakes

The Crossbike GX brakes through two completely separate braking systems: two calipers act on two discs of their own. Should one of them fail, the other keeps braking independently. Each caliper works with four pistons, which spread the pressure evenly across the pad and thus produce strong, finely modulated braking.

Lockable brake

Both brake levers can be locked with a lever. This keeps the power assist device safely in place when stationary – for example when coupling and uncoupling, on slopes or when transferring into the wheelchair.

A matte platinum grey looks technical and restrained. The light grey tone stays subtle and defers to the wheelchair instead of demanding attention itself.

Tetra equipment

People with tetraplegia have particularly high requirements. Since many motor skills are often severely limited or no longer function, classic mechanical inputs such as turning the twist grip or pulling the brake cable must be rethought and revised. That is why we offer tetra equipment for most of our handbikes and traction devices. In this equipment form, our products meet the high requirements of tetraplegia without compressing safety aspects.

Equipment
